On April 10, 2020, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development issued Notice PIH 2020-05 (the “Notice”), which established certain regulatory waivers and
alternative requirements for, among other things, the Public Housing program and Housing Choice voucher (“HCV”) program due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Effective April 15, 2020, Brewer Housing began applying the regulatory waivers and alternative requirements noted in the chart that you can find at the
link below. The respective regulatory waiver and alternative requirement will apply for the time period indicated in the chart.
If you have any questions about these temporary changes and how they apply to you, please let us know at (207)989-7890.
HUD Waivers
March 16, 2020
Brewer Housing is concerned about Covid19 and is making some changes to protect our residents and employees. Starting today, March 16, 2020, our
Administrative Office at 15 Colonial Circle; Suite 1 will be closed to the public. The office will remain closed for at least two weeks. We feel that
this measure is necessary to protect the public and our employees.
Even though the office will be closed, we will continue to work. We will be able to perform work across all divisions, including taking rent payments.
Any face-to-face meetings that were scheduled over the next couple weeks will be conducted over the phone.
Our maintenance staff will continue to work, improving the buildings and grounds. However, they will only be completing in unit work orders, if it is an
essential/emergency work order. All other work orders will be completed at a later date. We would ask that if you are sick or exhibiting any symptoms of
illness and have an essential/emergency work order, please let us know in advance so that we may take appropriate precautions before entering your unit.
If paying rent at the office at 15 Colonial Circle, at the front door there is a mail drop on the right-hand side of the door. All rents will be
processed by 3:30 pm that day or if dropped in the box after 3:30 pm, it will be processed the following day. If you have not already set up to have
your rent withdrawn from your checking / savings account and would like to start please contact the office at 207-989-7890 to have a form either emailed
or mailed to you.
Although we are attempting to keep things the same (but slightly different), there are a few things that will definitely change. We will not be holding
any potluck lunches or gatherings in the community rooms. We are asking all residents to follow the CDC and Governor Mills suggestion to stay at least 6
feet from any other person.
We are all navigating this uncharted territory together. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions at 207-989-7890.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all work through this to protect the most vulnerable in our community.
