Eldery & Disabled Housing

The Housing Authority owns and operates eighty-two (82) elderly & disabled public housing units in two locations. There is one waiting list for these two developments.

The Heritage Development & E. Charles Dartnell Apartments
Eighty-two 1 & 2 Bedroom elderly & disabled units. Two (2) laundry facilities and a community room available. All utilities are included with rent. Rent is subsidized based on 30% of gross adjusted income. Income limits apply. All units are smoke free.

Family Housing

The Housing Authority owns seventy-two (72) family public housing units in several locations. The Housing Authority has one waiting list for all developments.

Scattered Sites Development (20 family public housing units)
Two & three bedroom apartments located on Church Street, Chamberlain Street and North Main Street. All units are smoke free. Rent is based on 30% of gross adjusted income and income limits apply.

Norumbega Park located on Rinfret Drive
Two & three bedroom townhouse and single story units. Washer & dryer hookups in each apartment. Basketball court and playground located on site. All utilities included with rent. Rent is based on 30% of gross adjusted income. Income limits apply.

Gerald D. Robertson Apartments on Lyford Drive
Two & three bedroom single story units. Washer & dryer hookups in each apartment. All utilities included with rent. Rent is based on 30% of gross adjusted income. Income limits apply.

Dirigo School Associates

The Housing Authority Manage for the Dirigo School Assoicates an 10 unit building located at 125 South Main Street.

Eight unit building for the elderly & disabled. There are laundry facilities on site and a chair lift. There is also two units that are market rate. Rent is based on 30% of gross adjusted income. Income limits apply.

Ellen M. Leach Memorial Home

The Housing Authority manages the Ellen M. Leach Memorial Home located at 58 Colonial Circle.

The Ellen M. Leach Memorial Home consists of 90 individual apartment homes. The one and two-bedroom apartment homes feature a comfortable living room, a full-size kitchen and bathroom as well as ample closet space throughout. An intercom system is located within the apartments to allow visitor interaction and access. All utilities are included as well as housekeeping, continental breakfast and a full course lunch. For safety, in addition to the fire alarm system, all apartments are equipped with a sprinkler system as well as emergency pull-cords. More Information
